How it starts

Three steps, and you know where you stand.

  1. Book a free intro call

Tell me what's going on. Nothing to gather and nothing to send yet.

  2. Get it in writing

A written scope and quote before the work begins. No surprise hourly bills.

  3. Then we get to work

Documents go through a secure client portal once we're engaged, and you know who to call when something comes up.

Common questions

Straight answers before you call.

Is the first call really free?

Yes. The first intro call is free, and you don't need your documents gathered or your questions figured out first. That's what the call is for. If it turns out to be a fit, you get a flat fee in writing before any work starts.

How do you price your work?

You get a flat fee in writing before any work starts, with no hourly billing and no surprises. For a tax return, the quote is built from what your return actually involves, so you're not paying for complexity you don't have. Monthly bookkeeping and tax clients pay one flat monthly fee, based on what they need.

What if I'm behind on my books or taxes?

That's the normal starting point, not a problem. However far behind you are, this is fixable. My job is to meet you where you are: get you caught up, respond to any notices or audits, and get you current on your filings.

Do I have to talk to the IRS if I'm audited?

Usually not. Once you sign a power of attorney authorizing me to act for you, the auditor deals with me, and in most audits you're never in the room. The IRS can require an interview, and if it comes to that, I prepare you properly beforehand and I'm there with you.

Who you'll work with

Seventeen years on the other side of the table.

I spent seventeen years auditing small businesses and self-employed people as an IRS auditor, and more than a decade teaching other auditors how to do it. I know what a notice actually says, and what a record has to show.

Now I prepare returns and work with taxpayers nationwide on IRS letters, audits, balances, levies, liens and unfiled returns, myself. Not a call center or a salesperson.
